Kasia Chmielinski

Kasia is a technologist, speaker, and the founder of The Data Nutrition Project. Kasia is focused on questions of algorithmic bias and accountability from a multi-disciplinary and cross-domain perspective, and advises and works alongside actors from across the AI ecosystem from startups building AI systems to organizations thinking about the governance of data and deployment of AI. Kasia has held positions at Google, McKinsey, MIT Media Lab, the US Digital Service (The White House), the United Nations (OCHA, UNOPS), and holds affiliations at Harvard University and Stanford University.

They are also involved in building artistic narratives around the role of technology in democracy through projects supported by organizations like the Rockefeller Foundation, the Sundance Institute, NPR, and Ars Electronica. Driven by the belief that interdisciplinary conversations are critical for solving complex problems, Kasia’s work bridges the silos between AI builders + consumers, tech innovators + regulators, and artists + scientists.
