Building a Media Gut Check: Working Criteria for Multimedia in the AI Era

Educators have evaluated classroom media by instinct built over years, but that instinct was trained on a media environment that no longer exists. This working session puts those private judgments on the table. Participants compare how they currently vet a video, a podcast, or an image, then draft shared criteria as a group: where a source actually came from, how well it serves the learning goal, what to disclose to students, and what to do when encountering AI-created resources. Participants will leave with a ready-made checklist they helped write, one that travels from the syllabus to the assignment to the students themselves, who face the same judgment calls every time they open a feed.
